NFT कैसे Mint करें

OpenSea पर step-by-step minting (Polygon low fees के लिए)। Creator economy practical guide।

Lesson 2 of 67 min

NFT minting = digital asset को blockchain पर unique token के रूप में create करना। Art, music, photography — कुछ भी।

Prerequisites: - MetaMask wallet (free) - Some ETH/MATIC for gas - Digital file (JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, MP3) - OpenSea account

Step-by-step (OpenSea + Polygon):

Step 1: Create MetaMask। - Download MetaMask extension/app - Generate wallet, save 12-word seed phrase - Add Polygon network (low fees)

Step 2: Get MATIC for gas। - Buy MATIC on CoinDCX - Withdraw to MetaMask, Polygon network - ₹100-500 should cover dozens of mints

Step 3: Connect MetaMask to OpenSea। - Visit opensea.io - "Connect Wallet" → MetaMask → Polygon network

Step 4: Create collection। - Profile → "Create" → "Collection" - Add logo, banner, name, description - Set royalty % (5-10% standard) for secondary sales - Choose Polygon blockchain

Step 5: Mint NFT। - "Create new item" - Upload digital file - Title, description, properties - Supply (1 for unique, multiple for editions) - Click "Create" — small gas fee

Step 6: List for sale। - "Sell" button on your NFT - Set fixed price (USDC) or auction - Pay listing fee (one-time per wallet, ~₹500) - Done — discoverable on OpenSea

Promotion (most important for sales): - Twitter/Instagram presence - NFT community engagement (Discord) - Collaborations with other artists - Patience (most NFTs don't sell quickly)

Costs breakdown (Polygon): - Initial gas: ~₹50 - Minting: ~₹5 per NFT - Listing fee: ~₹500 one-time - OpenSea takes 2.5% on sales - Royalties on secondary: 5-10% to you

Comparison — Mainnet (Ethereum): - Gas: ₹2,000-10,000 per mint - Premium price points needed - Better for established artists

Indian context: - Most Indian creators should start on Polygon (low entry barrier) - Building Web3 reputation takes 6-12 months minimum - Income from sales: taxable as creator income (slab rates if hobby; business income if commercial) - Each subsequent NFT sale: Section 115BBH for buyer reselling

Common mistakes: - Minting without community building - Wrong network selection (mainnet for cheap art) - Copying others' art (IP violations) - Pricing unrealistically high - Abandoning project after low initial sales

Indian tax for creator: - Mint cost = deductible as creation expense (if commercial) - Sale = income at sale value - Royalties on resales = income at each receipt - Schedule VDA reporting if treated as VDA
