Rug Pulls और Honeypots

DeFi और memecoin world में rug pulls और honeypots सबसे painful losses देते हैं। Both attacks का goal एक ही है: आपका पैसा permanently steal करना — पर techniques अलग हैं।

Rug Pull क्या है? Developers एक नया token launch करते हैं, marketing करते हैं, liquidity pool बनाते हैं (mostly stablecoins या ETH के against)। Investors token खरीदते हैं, liquidity बढ़ती है, price pump होती है। फिर एक दिन developers liquidity pool से सारी ETH/USDT withdraw कर लेते हैं — token की value 99.9% गिर जाती है, holders के पास worthless tokens रह जाते हैं। Famous example: SQUID token (2021) — Squid Game inspired memecoin, $3 million liquidity in hours, फिर rug pull, ₹230 crore gone।

Honeypot क्या है? Smart contract इस तरह design किया जाता है कि token buy हो सकता है पर sell नहीं। Mechanics: contract code में sell function disabled होती है या extreme fee (99%) लगती है। Early investors देखते हैं price बढ़ रही है, और लोग खरीदते हैं, पर कोई sell नहीं कर पाता। Eventually creator खुद sell करता है (special address whitelist में है)।

Rug pull की red flags: - Anonymous team — no LinkedIn, no team page, fake stock photos - Locked liquidity का proof नहीं — legit projects liquidity 6-12 महीने के लिए lock करते हैं (UniCrypt या PinkSale से) - No audit — Certik, Hacken जैसी firms से security audit नहीं हुआ - Token concentration — top 10 holders के पास supply का 50%+ - Unrealistic promises — "100x in a month guaranteed", "no risk staking 1000% APY" - Fast growing Telegram में spam-like hype — coordinated cheerleading - Renounced ownership doesn't mean safe — सिर्फ contract changes नहीं हो सकते, पर pre-mined supply अभी भी dump हो सकती है

Honeypot test: हर new token के लिए (खासकर low market cap) honeypot.is जैसी free tool पर test करें contract address डालकर — यह तुरंत बता देगी कि token sellable है या नहीं। Also: buy small amount पहले (₹100), try to sell immediately — अगर sell fail हो जाता है, honeypot है।

Real Indian victim cases: - 2023 में Telegram group में "SafeMoonX" promoted किया गया — Indian retail ने ₹50+ crore लगाए। Developers ने liquidity pull कर ली, token शून्य पर गिर गया। - 2024 में "ChaiCoin" memecoin honeypot था — Indian Telegram में marketed। Buyers कुछ हफ्तों तक price बढ़ती देखते रहे, पर कोई sell नहीं कर पाया।

Safe practice: - सिर्फ established coins में invest करें (CoinMarketCap top 100) - New token = high risk; जो खो सकते हैं उतना ही लगाओ - Liquidity, audit, team history हमेशा check करें - "Easy money" promises = exit signal - Memecoins = entertainment, investment नहीं — सिर्फ disposable amount

Indian tax angle: भले ही rug pulled token की value ₹0 हो जाए, Section 115BBH के तहत loss को कोई दूसरी income से offset नहीं कर सकते। यानी आप पैसा भी खो गए और tax benefit भी नहीं मिला। Triple punishment।
