Common Chart Patterns
Most traders ये patterns recognize कर सकते हैं — self-fulfilling prophecy create करते हैं।

Head & Shoulders
Reversal signal।
Double Top
Ascending Triangle
🔼 BullishRising lows + flat resistance। Breakout likely।
Bull Flag
🔼 BullishSharp rise फिर tight channel down। Continuation।
Cup & Handle
Doji Candle
⚖ IndecisionOpen = Close। Buyers-sellers बराबर। Reversal hint।
Reversal patterns (trend change indicate):
1. Head and Shoulders (H&S): - 3 peaks: left shoulder, head (highest), right shoulder - Neckline connects troughs - Breakdown below neckline = bearish reversal confirmed - Target: distance from head to neckline projected down
Inverse H&S: - Same pattern inverted (bottom) - Bullish reversal signal - Confirms with break above neckline
2. Double Top: - Two peaks at similar level - Bearish reversal - Break below trough between peaks = signal
Double Bottom: - Two troughs at similar level - Bullish reversal
3. Triple Top/Bottom: - Stronger version of double pattern - More reliable reversal signal
Continuation patterns (trend continues):
1. Triangles:
Ascending triangle: - Flat top + rising bottom - Bullish continuation (usually) - Breakout up expected
Descending triangle: - Flat bottom + falling top - Bearish continuation - Breakdown expected
Symmetric triangle: - Both lines converging - Direction uncertain - Wait for breakout
2. Flags & Pennants:
After strong move, brief consolidation: - Flag: rectangle (parallel lines) - Pennant: triangle
Both signal continuation in original direction।
3. Cup and Handle: - U-shape cup (consolidation) - Small "handle" (final dip) - Bullish continuation - Famous Indian Bitcoin chart pattern 2020-21
4. Rectangles: - Sideways consolidation - Horizontal support + resistance - Direction depends on which side breaks
How to use patterns:
Step 1: Identify। Practice on historical charts — pattern recognition skill develops over time।
Step 2: Confirm breakout। - Volume should spike on break - Closing above/below level (not just wick) - Multiple timeframe consistency
Step 3: Set targets। - Pattern height projected from breakout point - Use Fib extensions as additional reference
Step 4: Stop-loss। - Just below broken support (for longs) - Just above broken resistance (for shorts)
Real BTC example — 2024 H&S: - Left shoulder: $65K - Head: $73K - Right shoulder: $68K - Neckline: $58K - Break: BTC dropped to $50K (projected $42K not reached)
Common mistakes:
1. Forcing patterns। Seeing patterns where none exist (confirmation bias)। 2. Premature entries। Trading before confirmed breakout। 3. Ignoring volume। No-volume breakouts often fail। 4. Single pattern reliance। Combine with other TA tools। 5. Overlooking context। Pattern in major news event can fail।
Pattern reliability ranking:
Most reliable: 1. Head and Shoulders 2. Double Top/Bottom 3. Ascending/Descending Triangle
Medium reliable: 4. Cup and Handle 5. Symmetric Triangle 6. Flags
Less reliable: 7. Rectangles 8. Pennants (short-term)
Indian crypto context:
Patterns less reliable in low-liquidity coins। BTC, ETH most chartable। Indian rupee charts sometimes diverge from USD charts (currency factors)।
TradingView setup: - BTC/USD chart (more reliable than BTC/INR for global patterns) - Daily/4-hour timeframes - Manually annotate patterns - Multiple alerts at breakout levels
Realistic accuracy:
Well-confirmed patterns: 60-70% success rate। News overrides easily। Practice mandatory before real-money trades।
