RSI और MACD

दो indicators जो most retail traders use करते हैं। Overbought/oversold + trend strength।

Lesson 3 of 87 min

RSI और MACD crypto TA में दो most popular indicators हैं। दोनों different things measure करते हैं — RSI momentum, MACD trend। Combined use करना standard है।

RSI (Relative Strength Index):

Formula: 0-100 scale पर price momentum measure करता है। 14-period default।

Interpretation: - >70: Overbought (price too high, may reverse down) - 30-70: Neutral range - <30: Oversold (price too low, may bounce up) - 50: Neutral / trend changing

RSI (Relative Strength Index) Zones

0-100 scale पर price momentum measure करता है।

Overbought70-100
Neutral30-70
Oversold0-30

RSI > 70

Price too high — pullback likely

RSI 30-70

Neutral — wait for clearer signal

RSI < 30

Price oversold — bounce likely

💡 RSI divergence (price up, RSI down) = strongest reversal signal।

Practical use:

Scenario A: BTC RSI = 78। Overbought signal। Price likely to consolidate/reverse। NOT a guaranteed sell signal — pullback or sideways possible।

Scenario B: BTC RSI = 25। Oversold। Potential bounce coming। Buying opportunity (with other confirmations)।

RSI Divergence:

Most powerful RSI signal। Price action और RSI में disagreement।

Bullish divergence: - Price making lower lows - RSI making higher lows - Suggests weakening downward momentum - Reversal upward likely

Bearish divergence: - Price making higher highs - RSI making lower highs - Weakening upward momentum - Reversal downward likely

MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence):

Components: - MACD line: 12-EMA minus 26-EMA - Signal line: 9-EMA of MACD line - Histogram: MACD - Signal (visual difference)

Interpretation:

1. Crossovers: - MACD crosses above signal = bullish (buy) - MACD crosses below signal = bearish (sell)

2. Zero line: - MACD above 0 = uptrend - MACD below 0 = downtrend

3. Histogram: - Growing positive = strengthening uptrend - Growing negative = strengthening downtrend - Shrinking = trend weakening

Combined use — example:

BTC chart analysis: - Price approaching $70K resistance - RSI = 72 (overbought) - MACD: signal cross down imminent - Decision: take profits, await pullback

Reverse scenario: - Price near $60K support - RSI = 28 (oversold) - MACD: signal cross up forming - Decision: buy with stop below support

Indian context — using these on Indian exchanges:

  • CoinDCX charts: RSI + MACD available, standard 14/12/26/9 settings
  • TradingView (free): full indicator suite
  • Mobile apps: simplified but functional

Common mistakes:

1. Single indicator decisions। RSI = 75 alone ≠ sell signal। Need confluence।

2. Wrong timeframe। RSI on 1-minute chart = noise। Daily/4-hour more reliable for swing decisions।

3. Ignoring divergences। RSI divergence often more reliable than overbought/oversold levels alone।

4. Overuse। 10 indicators on chart = analysis paralysis। 2-3 max।

5. Backtesting inadequately। What worked in 2021 bull may not work in 2026।

Realistic expectations:

RSI + MACD = 55-60% accuracy in trending markets, 40-50% in choppy। Not a magic wand। Risk management always paramount।

Indian-specific factor: Low liquidity coins पर indicators less reliable। Stick to high-volume coins (BTC, ETH, SOL) for TA effectiveness।
